The 2023 Income Tax Refund already has a defined calendar. However, the declarations sent may have different statuses, such as: rectified, manual processing or even canceled.

How to check the current status of the 2023 Income Tax Refund?

Firstly, it is important to remember that you can check the status of your declaration at any time. To do this, you must access the portal e-CAC, from the Federal Revenue Service. 

If you have never accessed the portal, know that access is very simple, and you can even access it using the same credentials used in the system gov.br

Check now, what are the main messages that can appear in the status, and what each of them means: 

  1. Rectified: If this information appears, it means that your previous declaration has been completely replaced by the corrective declaration that you submitted. 
  2. Canceled: If the word “cancelled” appears, it means that the declaration was canceled by the tax authority or at the request of the taxpayer, and this means that the declaration no longer has any legal effect.
  3. Manual treatment: If the information “manual processing” appears, this means that the declaration is being analyzed. The taxpayer needs to wait for correspondence from the Special Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil for more information.

Furthermore, some people have priority for refunds, such as:

  • Elderly people over 80 years old;
  • Elderly people aged 60 and over; 
  • People with physical or mental disabilities or serious illnesses;
  • People who have teaching as their biggest source of income;
  • People who used the pre-filled declaration; It is
  • People who chose to receive the 2023 Income Tax Refund via pix.  

Income Tax Refund Calendar 2023

The 2023 Income Tax Refund will be made in five stages. Payment for the first batch was made on May 31st.

Regarding payments from the second batch, they are scheduled to be released on June 30th, with the possibility of consultation by eligible taxpayers until June 23rd.

Check out the full calendar now: 

  • 1st batch: The consultation was made available on May 24th, payment took place on May 31st.
  • 2nd batch: The consultation will be available on June 23rd, payment will take place on June 30th.
  • 3rd batch: The consultation will be made available on July 24th, payment will take place on July 31st.
  • 4th batch: The consultation will be made available on August 24th, payment will take place on August 31st.
  • 5th batch: The consultation will be made available on September 22nd and payment will take place on September 29th.

This year we had a historic number of 4,129,925 taxpayers who received their refunds, totaling R$ 7.5 billion in the first batch alone. Additionally, some refunds from previous years are also being paid, along with refunds from the current year. 

Attention: Do not forget that refunds are paid to the bank account indicated by the taxpayer during the declaration itself. Therefore, pay attention to the account you registered. 

I didn't receive the credit for my 2023 Income Tax Refund, what should I do? 

If there is any problem and you do not receive credit for your refund, you can reschedule the payment through the Banco do Brasil online portal. 

To do this, access the BB website or contact the bank's Relationship Center directly.

Furthermore, pay attention to the status, and always correct any eventuality or discrepancy that may appear, so that you receive your refund correctly.
