The platform Google Flight, already known for its ability to monitor values, now brings an innovative functionality that helps the user identify the most advantageous periods to buy plane tickets.
Previously, the system alerted users to fluctuations in ticket prices.
However, with the new feature, Google Flights indicates when it is most common to find cheaper fares for specific destinations. Let's go to the details!
When do air fares usually drop?

There are several online tools that monitor and inform consumers about variations in flight prices, showing whether prices have increased or decreased in a specific range.
The persistent question has always been identifying the best time to actually make the purchase.
The update of Google Flights can now show when it is generally more economical to travel to certain destinations, based on detailed trend data.
Google Flight best price certification
Additionally, Google Flights introduced a seal that ensures the best price on some flight options.
This indicates that the platform is confident that the price currently displayed will not be reduced until the date of the flight.
If the value of the ticket decreases after purchase and up to the boarding date, the consumer will be refunded. However, it is worth highlighting that this initiative is still in the testing phase and is currently exclusive to the USA.
As the company explains: “After booking flights with this seal, the price is monitored daily until the flight.
If there is a price reduction, the difference is refunded via Google Pay. This best price commitment is in the testing phase and is applied to selected routes in the US.”
Tips for specific routes
As an example, when planning a round trip between New York and Miami, departing on December 21st and returning on the 29th, Google Flights suggests that the ideal interval to purchase tickets is 1 to 3 months in advance.
Precisely between September 13th and December 7th.
The company highlights on its blog: “This information may reveal that the most economical period to book similar trips is commonly two months before the flight.
With this data, the user has more confidence when deciding the right time to make their reservation.”
