News from Minha Casa Minha Vida! People who receive Bolsa Família or Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) now have an extra reason to celebrate.
After all, the government decided that they no longer need to worry about the payments on properties purchased through the Minha Casa Minha Vida program. That's right, they might even be able to get a house without paying anything!
This change comes with a new federal government policy, which exempts beneficiaries from paying financing installments.

Who is entitled to exemption from Minha Casa Minha Vida?

Check out this news for those who receive it Bolsa Família and BPC: now, if you are paying a loan, you can be free from future installments.
Staff at the Ministry of Cities calculate that around 600,000 families that receive Bolsa Família and another 150,000 with someone receiving BPC can take advantage of this.
This does not apply to all properties in the program, only to those that fit into the FAR, FDS and PNHR modalities with money.
And there's more: the installments that have already been paid will not be returned, okay? This exemption comes into effect from September 28th.
And it doesn't matter if your contract is old or brand new. If you signed before September 28th and were already registered with Bolsa Família or BPC on that date, you can breathe a sigh of relief with future installments.
How do you know if you are eligible?
Caixa has up to a month to put the new Minha Casa Minha Vida rules into practice, as they are responsible for the program.
After this time has passed, some families will not need to pay the installments for now, but only if they meet the right criteria.
The Ministry of Cities has already warned that those responsible for the contracts have up to six months to get everything right.
Properties can also be subsidized or financed

In Brazil, the federal government offers a helping hand to those who want to buy their own home: the subsidy, which is basically a part of the value of the property that the government pays.
In this way, the family covers what is missing, for those who earn up to a certain amount (this is the income bracket 1), the maximum value of the house or apartment is R$ 170 thousand in the city and R$ 75 thousand in the countryside .
Look how cool it is: in some cases, the government can pay more than 90% of the value of the house.
Those who are in bracket 1 and still receive Bolsa Família or BPC can even get a property for free. The installments, when available, start at R$ 80 per month and last for about 5 years.
But that's not all: there are more financing options, which can last up to 35 years!
Other financing ranges
For those who earn a little more, up to R$ 4,400 (this is band 2), properties have a limit value that varies between R$ 190 thousand and R$ 264 thousand. People who earn up to R$ 8,000 (band 3) can look at properties worth up to R$ 350 thousand.
Interest rates are super low, starting at 4% per year and going up to 8.16%, depending on how much money you earn and where you live.
Those who have FGTS can have an even better discount on these rates. Oh, and you can choose between new or used properties. There are lots of options!
Now, if you are part of group 1 of Minha Casa, Minha Vida, but do not receive Bolsa Família or BPC, there is more good news.
They will reduce the number of installments for you to pay off your property from 120 to 60, this applies to homes that were contracted through the National Urban Housing Program.
Band 1 is for those earning up to R$ 2,640 per month. Keep an eye on the rules and income ranges to see how this can help you.
