The Champions League resumes this week with six British teams looking to make their mark among their competitors.
Manchester City and Chelsea make their respective journeys to Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday, while Celtic host Shakhtar Donetsk on the same evening. Liverpool, Rangers and Tottenham are in action this Wednesday.
here we look at the variety of opponents of the British groups.
Borussia Dortmund
Erling Haaland is set to return to Borussia Dortmund for the first time, claiming he joined the Manchester metropolis in a £51.1m deal at the end of the summer. Dortmund had a combined crusade without the Norwegian striker, occupying second place behind the metropolis in the Champions League group and fifth in the Bundesliga. The Edin Terzic look has lost four of their eleven Bundesliga games but picked up their first win in four on Saturday. England midfielder Jude Bellingham scored twice in the 5-0 rout of lowly Stuttgart.

Austrian champion Salzburg did not lose due to the fact that July 30 – a series of sixteen suits. Shakhtar's solitary defeat this season turned into a 2-1 loss to Real Madrid, however, they drew the second leg online 1-1 with the European champions in Poland two weeks ago.
Ajax
Ajax prepared for Liverpool's conversation with Amsterdam by scoring eleven goals in two Eredivsie games – beating Excelsior 7-1 and winning 4-1 at RKC Waalwijk. The Dutch league leaders have won 9, drawn one and lost one in 11 games to open up a 4-man lead over PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord. However, it has been a different story in Europe, with Ajax losing 2-1 at Anfield before suffering heavy 6-1 and 4-2 defeats to Napoli.

Naples
community Leader A, Napoli, are arguably the in-form group in Europe, with a blistering delivery to the season. Luciano Spalletti's goalscoring form leads Serie A on three counts, with Saturday's 1-0 victory over Roma his eleventh successive victory in all competitions. Handiest Lecce and Fiorentina have kept them this season. Napoli's European team has been simply brilliant, scoring 17 goals in victories over Ajax (twice), Liverpool and Rangers, who they host on Wednesday.

Tottenham suffered a 2-0 Champions League defeat last month from Sporting, but the Portuguese team's type has been a mixed bag. Sporting lost 2-1 at Boavista and suffered an embarrassing defeat in the Portuguese Cup against three Liga clubs, Varzim. However, they have hosted their last three games in Portugal's Primeira Liga, and Saturday's 3-1 home defeat to Casa Pia dropped them to fourth place. Sporting have won two and lost two of their four Champions League games.
