HONG KONG — The sharp slowdown in China's boom over the past 12 months is leading many consultants to rethink when China will overtake the U.S. as the world's biggest economic climate — or even if it ever will.

except recently, many economists assumed that China's gross domestic product measured in US dollars would surpass that of the US by the end of the last decade, capping what many agree was probably the most miraculous financial rise of all time.

However, the outlook for China's economy has darkened this year as Beijing-led policies – along with its zero tolerance for COVID-19 and efforts to contain the housing hypothesis – undermined the rise. As economists lower their forecasts for 2022, they have become more engaged with China's long-term prospects, with unfavorable demographics and high debt levels undoubtedly weighing on any recovery.

in one of the more contemporary reviews, the Center for Economics and Business Research, a U.Okay. Feel tank, thinks that China will overtake the USA as the largest economic climate in the world two years later than anticipated until now, when it made the last forecast in 2020. Now it thinks it will happen in 2030.

Japan's Financial Analysis Center in Tokyo noted that it believes the passing of the baton will not occur until 2033, 4 years later than the previous prediction.
