The federal government announced this Monday (20) the beginning of the creation of the database necessary for the payment of “Reconstruction Aid”.
This benefit, worth R$ 5.1 thousand, will be transferred via PIX to families who suffered losses of personal assets and income due to the historic rains in Rio Grande do Sul.
From the 27th, impacted families will need to access the gov.br portal to confirm the information provided by city halls. Find out more details below!

What is Reconstruction Aid?
The Federal Government will carry out a single payment of R$ 5,100.00 as financial support for families who were displaced or homeless in Rio Grande do Sul.
What do I need to confirm to receive Reconstruction Aid?
Registration for Reconstruction Aid will take place as follows:
1. City halls will register displaced or homeless families, entering personal and address information into the federal government system;
2. The person responsible for the beneficiary family will confirm the information through the account on www.gov.br;
3. Caixa Econômica Federal will make the payment into an existing account or open a new account for the beneficiary, who will be able to access the money through the Caixa TEM application;
Only after confirming and validating these data, as informed by the government, will the installment be transferred.
Currently, they are 369 municipalities that are qualified so that families can receive this benefit created by the federal government. You can check if it covers your municipality in the gov.br website.
When can I receive the aid?
The payment of Reconstruction Aid will be carried out after the information has been sent by the municipalities, the data has been processed, and confirmed by the family.
The sooner the city hall sends the data and the family confirms it in the system, the faster the amount will be credited to the account.
The system for receiving information from city halls will be available from 05/22/2024, and the system for confirming information by families will begin operating on 05/27/2024.
Do I need to open a bank account?
No, Caixa Econômica Federal will automatically open a digital social savings account for the beneficiary.
If the beneficiary already has an account with Caixa, the amount will be deposited directly into that account.
Are there any rules for using the aid?
No. Reconstruction Aid is assistance provided by the Federal Government to help families get back to their lives.
It is aimed at those who have lost household appliances such as a refrigerator, stove and television, or furniture such as a sofa and mattress, making it possible to replace these items.
Furthermore, for families whose homes were partially destroyed, the aid can be used to carry out small renovations. Each family has the freedom to decide the best way to use the resources received.
Important informations
From May 27th, it will be possible to access the system using the GovBr login and password. In the system, you will be notified if your family data has already been sent.
We recommend that you access the system regularly. Furthermore, we suggest that you download the GovBr app on your cell phone and keep it updated.
Receiving more than one reconstruction aid per family is considered fraud and is subject to applicable criminal and civil sanctions, in addition to the obligation to reimburse the Union for the value of the Financial Support received.
CadÚnico, Bolsa Família and Unemployment Insurance
If you live in an affected area, as informed by the city hall, you had to vacate your residence and lost property due to the rains, you may be eligible to receive reconstruction assistance.
Furthermore, if you have a CadÚnico, receive Bolsa Família or unemployment insurance, you may also receive government assistance.
