2024 promises to be a year of news in Band's programming, which plans to rekindle the public's interest with the re-airing of Turkish soap operas.

Reliable sources, such as journalist Flávio Ricco from the R7 portal, indicate that conversations to bring these foreign dramas are progressing. Among the productions listed, “Iludida” stands out.

With a cast led by Cansu Dere and Caner Cindoruk, this soap opera is an adapted version of the British series “Doctor Foster”. The plot, rich in themes such as infidelity and revenge, seems to be a good choice for prime time, at 10:30 pm.

Band is planning a big surprise for next year: the possible return of the passionate Turkish soap operas on the schedule! Negotiations are already underway to bring these hits back to our screens.

A recent survey showed that the Brazilian public has a special affection for Turkish soap operas, much more than for productions from other countries, including Portugal. This is the case of the soap opera “Valor da Vida”, currently on air.

This phenomenon is nothing new and is already very visible on the main streaming platforms.

Turkish soap operas have gained a special place on the international scene, and band is super committed to resuming the airing of these engaging dramas from 2024.

And there's more: the broadcaster is already eyeing some titles for this new phase. One of them is “Iludida”, starring Cansu Dere and Caner Cindoruk.

This plot, which is an adaptation of the British series Doctor Foster, promises to capture the public's attention with a story full of infidelity and revenge, perfect for prime time at 10:30 pm.

Top Turkish soap operas that can be shown

The highlight initially came in 2015, when the broadcaster brought “Binbir Gece” (One Thousand and One Nights), distributed by TMC Film, to Brazilian viewers.

This series, which won fans in Latin America, the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa, paved the way for other successful productions.

Among them, “Fatmagul: The Force of Love” stood out, becoming a global phenomenon. Band was a pioneer in showing the series, which is now also successful on Globoplay, surpassing even new releases on the platform.

Band's choices of these soap operas were made based on their success, regardless of the original broadcaster or producer.

This strategy occurred mainly at international fairs, where the best productions were selected for broadcast in Brazil.

In the streaming scene, Turkish soap operas, technically known as “dizi”, have been gaining more and more space.

They are adored by fans and are now present on several Grupo Globo channels, including Viva, as well as platforms such as Prime Video and HBO Max.

These productions are achieving success comparable to, or even greater than, popular Mexican soap operas. An example of this is “Mãe”, which became a worldwide success.

Globo, in an innovative move, entered into a partnership with Inter Medya, one of the main distributors of Turkish content in Latin America.

Among the announced titles, which are now available on Globoplay, are “Son Yaz” (Last Summer), “Ramo”, “Maraşlı” (Reliable), “Bir Zamanlar Çukurova” (Bitter Land), “Leke” (Tainted Love) and the series “Naked”. Some of these series are still showing in Türkiye.

On the other hand, Band made a mistake by interrupting the broadcast of “O Hayat Benim” (My Life), the last Turkish soap opera on its schedule.

The plot, which told the story of Bahar (Ezgi Asaroglu), Ates (Keremcem) and Esfun (Ceren Moray), was abruptly taken off the air, leaving viewers without seeing the ending.

“Minha Vida” had four seasons, but only two were shown in Brazil, with significant cuts.

After “Minha Vida”, the Band bet on “Ouro Verde”, by the same Emmy-winning author of “Valor da Vida”.

Despite its success in Portugal, the soap opera was unable to repeat the feat of Turkish productions in the same time slot. The same happened with “Nazaré”, which did not achieve the expected success.
