What is the Social Tariff and who is entitled to it?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Social Tariff is a benefit created by Law No. 10,438, of April 26, 2002, <\/span>which offers discounts to consumers of <\/span>Low Income.<\/span><\/p>\n

People who wish to benefit from the social tariff must meet certain criteria, such as being registered with the Cad\u00fanico<\/a> or the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) and have an income less than or equal to half the minimum wage, R$ 651.00. A third criterion of the Social Tariff offers the benefit to people who are on the Single Registry with a monthly income of up to three minimum wages of R$ 3,906. However, there must be someone with a disability or illness in the house.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, this patient must require treatment that requires the continuous use of devices, equipment or instruments that constantly require electrical energy.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do Social Tariff discounts work?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The discount you will receive from the Social Tariff will largely depend on the monthly consumption of each household. They can range from 10% to 65%, up to a limit of 220 kWh, as shown below:<\/span><\/p>\n
