Watch the soap opera Rebelde

Initially, Rebelde was broadcast on Televisa, in Mexico, between 2004 and 2006, and was a huge success in Latin America. It was also shown several times by SBT here in Brazil.
The main cast included Anahí, Dulce María, Alfonso Herrera, Christopher Von Uckermann, Christian Chávez and Maite Perroni, who also sang the soap opera's songs.
The story is actually a remake of an Argentine soap opera called Rebelde Way, which aired between 2002 and 2003. It takes place in a school for rich young people in Mexico called Elite Way School.
The students, Mia Colucci, Miguel Arango, Roberta Pardo, Diego Bustamante, Lupita Fernandez and Giovanni Mendez, have very different backgrounds, but they find in music a way to deal with their problems and pursue their dream of becoming stars.
Now, the soap opera is available on Globoplay, and this coincides with the pop group's tour in Brazil.
They have confirmed shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo from November 9th to 19th. The only original member who will not be present is Alfonso Herrera, who is busy with other projects.
SBT no longer has the rights to show Rebelde
Many people thought that, as SBT was the first to show the soap opera, they could still show it again, but in fact, the first time the soap opera was rerun was on the Boomerang channel.
On open television, SBT managed to show Rebelde only once, from 2013 to 2015.
But at that time, the ratings weren't as good as they expected, so they had to shorten the episodes.
In 2020, when everyone was in quarantine because of the pandemic, the group's fans started to pressure SBT to show the soap opera again.
But SBT's programming director, Murilo Fraga, explained on Twitter that they no longer have the rights to the soap opera and cannot broadcast it again. It was very clear!
