What is a social driver's license?

When a citizen enrolled in social programs or in certain specific situations wishes to obtain a driver's license, he or she can use the benefit of the social driver's license, that is, the exemption from the fee paid for this process.
What documents and requirements are required to obtain a CNH fee exemption?
It is possible to be exempt from the CNH fee due to social requirements, that is, being low income, but also in other situations, such as in the case of unemployment for more than a year. Below is a list of documentation and requirements for requesting it:
Required documents
- CPF;
- RG (identity card);
- Birth Certificate if the candidate does not have an ID;
- Updated proof of residence;
- Work Card;
- Proof of income for the last 12 months;
- Academic Record (if the candidate is a student);
- Updated proof of vaccination.
Requirements to request exemption from CNH fee (social)
- Literacy (reading and writing);
- Be over 18 years old;
- Be part of Bolsa Família/Auxílio Brasil or another assistance program from the – – Federal Government;
- Study in the public education network;
- Have a disability;
- Being an ex-convict.
Which states offer CNH fee exemption?

Acre
Public school students, attending high school, can participate in the “Young Apprentice in Traffic” program. Course duration: 6 months.
Amazon
People over 18 years old, residing in the state for at least two years, with a family income of up to three minimum wages per month or unemployed for more than a year.
Bahia
Students from public or private schools with full scholarships, unemployed or with an income equal to or less than the minimum wage.
Ceará
Students from public schools, PCDs, people leaving the penitentiary system and beneficiaries of Bolsa Família.
Federal District
Modalities “Qualified Student” (18 to 25 years old, registered with CadÚnico and attending or completed high school in public schools) and “Qualified Citizen” (over 18 years old with CPF or ID).
Holy Spirit
Unemployed for at least one year or with family income of up to two minimum wages.
Goiás
Several modalities available, exempting Detran fees, including courses and scheduling tests.
Maranhão
Students from public schools in the state of Maranhão, residing in the municipality, having taken the Enem and without judicial convictions for non-compliance with traffic legislation.
Paraíba
Unemployed or employed people with income up to one minimum wage, students of Projovem or Brasil Alfabetizado programs, graduates of the penitentiary system.
Rio de Janeiro
Exemption from fees for low-income or physically disabled people, upon presentation of a letter from the public defender's office.

Benefit available to those enrolled in programs such as Bolsa Família, of legal age, with proven residence in the state and not legally prevented from obtaining a driver's license.
Roraima
Online registration for the CNH Cidadã, with vacancies for low-income people, drivers and people with disabilities.
